Pat Matt Privacy Policy

Last updated July 2026

Pat Matt does not collect, transmit, sell or share any of your data. Everything it touches stays on your own computer. There is no account, no server, and no tracking.

What Pat Matt stores, and where

When you save ("pat") a page, Pat Matt reads that page's readable text and keeps it, along with the title and the web address, in your browser's own local storage on your device. The same is true of the books it brews and your settings, such as how often you want it to brew. This information never leaves your machine. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, because Pat Matt has no server to send it to.

What Pat Matt does not do

It does not create an account or ask you to sign in. It does not use analytics, advertising or trackers. It does not read your browsing history. It only reads the text of a page at the moment you choose to pat it, and only that page. It does not share data with any third party.

The optional email field

Pat Matt's settings include an optional field where you may enter an email address if you would like to hear about updates. If you leave it blank, nothing happens. If you fill it in, the address is stored locally and is only sent anywhere if a future version is explicitly connected to a mailing service, at which point this policy will be updated first. You are never required to provide it.

Permissions, in plain English

Pat Matt asks only for what it needs to do its job: to save your pages and books on your device, to read the text of the page you actively pat, to add a right-click "pat" option, to remind you to brew on your chosen schedule, and to show you a small notification when a book is ready. It does not request access to all your websites.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
